Bobbie helped open Cornermen Financial in 2013 and serves as the firm’s office manager.
Raised in a family that worked hard but was unable to fully retire, Bobbie describes her greatest pleasure as being able to help clients retire without fear. She also finds satisfaction in helping clients through stressful situations when others can’t or don’t know how.
Bobbie’s broad financial services career began in 1997 at Citibank, where she developed a specialty in advisor support and affluent client services. Since that time, she has worked for investment managers Janus Funds and Invesco/AIM, as well as a number of independent advisory firms. After a brief detour as an early childhood educator in the early 2000s, Bobbie returned to financial services as a client services advisor for The 401(k) Company in Austin, a third-party 401(k) administrator servicing more than 100 different companies’ plans.
Outside of work, Bobbie and her husband, Mike, enjoy being Herd Members for the San Antonio Rampage AHL Hockey team, spending time with friends at Medina Lake, trying new food, and traveling as much as they can. They’re proud fur-parents of Barsky, a 220 pound Daniff (Great Dane/English Mastiff mix), Rami (a 65 pound rescue from Pucks & Paws night at a Rampage game in 2018), and Dax (a 130 pound stray Anatolian Shepperd that they rescued in Fall 2018) .
In 2018 Bobbie became the Adventure Ambassador for Women on Adventures – San Antonio. Her goal with WOA-SA, for herself and her members, is cultivating bravery, accessing personal freedom, and unleashing vulnerability through adventure. Some of their adventures include: hiking, backpacking, camping, axe throwing, kayaking, SUP (Standup Paddle Boarding), Bouldering (indoor rock climbing), foodie adventures, trail rides, and trapeze classes, just to name a few. Women on Adventures is more than just about expanding comfort zones and adventure; it’s about support, community, and connection. Bobbie believes that we should not only challenge ourselves with physical adventure but we should also be challenged with adventures of the mind and soul. That all three of these need to be working together to steer us towards cultivating our greatest lives. She believes that there isn't anything that a group of determined women cannot accomplish! One of her favorite quotes is from the novel City of Girls, by Elizabeth Gilbert: “When women are gathered together with no men around, they don't have to be anything in particular; they can just be”.
